A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS EX-
PRESSING THE DESIRE OF THE CITY TO ACCEPT
FROM THE CORP OF ENGINEERS , APPROXIMATELY
57 ACRES OF RIVER FRONT LAND ALONG THE SOUTH
BANK OF THE ARKANSAS RIVER, BETWEEN REBSAMEN
PARK AND LOCK AND DAM NO. 7 , TO BE USED AND
DEVELOPED AS A RECREATIONAL AND PARK AREA;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the U.S. Corp of Engineers is proposing to
convey to the City, lands containing approximately 57 acres, on
the south bank of the Arkansas River between Rebsamen Park and
Lock and Dam No. 7, as a public use development; and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is vitally interested
and anxiously awaits the opportunity to receive said lands from
the said U.S. Corp of Engineers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock is vitally interested
in and will accept conveyance of approximately 57 acres of land
from the U.S. Corp of Engineers on the south bank of the Arkansas
River, between Rebsamen Park and Lock and Dam No. 7 , to be develop-
ed according to the proposal of the said Corp of Engineers by
agencies of the Federal government as a public use and recreational
area.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and
requested to deliver a copy of this Resolution to officials of
the U.S. Corp of Engineers in this district at the earliest possible
time.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
