A RESOLUTION APPROVING A NONDISCRIMINATION
ASSURANCE WITH REGARD TO TITLE VI OF THE
CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1964 FOR GRANITE HEIGHTS
PARK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS, the Little Rock Housing Authority has claimed
as a noncash grant-in-aid the cost of Granite Heights Park; and
WHEREAS, this grant-in-aid is used to help finance
certain other renewal projects in the City; and
WHEREAS , Federal regulations require that the Board of
Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, adopt a Nondis-
crimination Assurance in regard to the park being claimed as a
noncash grant-in-aid by the Little Rock Housing Authority.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City of Little mock, Arkansas, recognizes
that Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the regulations
and policies of the Department of Housing and Urban Development
effectuating the title prohibit discrimination on the grounds of
race, color or national origin in the policies and practices of any
public facility, educational institution or hospital responsible
for proposed credit to the locality' s share of the costs of an
urban renewal project receiving financial assistance from the United
States. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby assures the United
States and the Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban
Development that Granite Heights Park, to be claimed as a noncash
grant-in-aid, will be available to and serve all persons without
regard to race, color or national origin.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
