A RESOLUTION GRANTING TO SAM HAMPTON DISABILITY
RETIREMENT BENEFITS UNDER SECTION 2-24 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Sam Hampton was employed by the City of Little
Rock on May 15, 1943, and has been continuously employed until
the present time, and due to a physical disability is found to
be entitled to disability retirement to become effective Decem-
ber 31, 1966, comprising a total term of employment of 23 years,
7 months and 16 days; and
WHEREAS, under Section 2-24 of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Little Rock, it is the policy of the Board of Directors
to continue to pay Sam Hampton at his rate of pay on the date of
retirement for a period of 23 months and 19 days, commencing
January 1, 1967, subject, however, to deductions from the said
monthly pay equal to sums hereinafter received by Sam Hampton or
to which he would be entitled provided he filed proper application
as provided under the Non-uniform Employee Retirement Plan, to-
gether with such funds as shall be hereafter received monthly by
said Sam Hampton or that which he would receive had proper applica-
tion been filed, if any, as disability benefits under the Social
Security Administration of the United States of America.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1, The City Manager and the Director of Finance
are hereby authorized and directeJ to continue the salary
established for Sam Hampton as of December 31, 1966, and to pay
same to Sam Hampton monthly in the nature of disability retire-
ment benefits beginning January 1, 1967, for a period of 23 months
and 19 days. At such time as Sam Hampton shall become eligible to
receive and shall in fact receive benefits under the Non-uniform
Employee Retirement Plan of the City and upon receiving disability
retirement benefits under the Social Security Laws of the United
States of America, the Director of Finance shall deduct from

monthly payments authorized hereunder all sums received during
said month by Sam Hampton from the foregoing sources so that
the sum received monthly by Sam Hampton from all sources of dis-
ability income shall be equal to but not exceed his salary on
the date of retirement.
SECTION 2. At such time, if ever, that Sam Hampton should
become eligible to receive benefits under either or both the Non-
uniform Employees Retirement Plan of the City of Little Rock and/
or the Social Security Laws of the United States of America, and
he fails or refuses to make application therefor, the benefits
provided for by this resolution shall cease and no further payments
shall be made to him pursuant to authority of this resolution.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
