A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO MAKE APPLICATION WITH THE ARKANSAS PLAN-
NING COMMISSION AND THE BUREAU OF OUTDOOR
RECREATION OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT
OF INTERIOR FOR FUNDS TO DEVELOP THE LITTLE
ROCK MUNICIPAL Z00; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has determined that
without the assistance of a grant from the Bureau of Outdoor
Recreation of the United States Department of Interior the
City will be unable to develop the Little Rock Municipal Zoo
to the extent and in the manner deemed necessary; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Little
Rock covenants that the land to be developed will be held as
a public park to be used by the citizens of Little Rock and
surrounding areas ; and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has appropriated
$206,000 to pay its share of the development cost of this
project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City Manger is hereby authorized and
directed to file application with the Arkansas Planning Commiss-
ion and the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation of the United States
Department of Interior for a grant to be used together with the
$206,000 heretofore appropriated by the City of Little Rock
in the further development of the Little Rock Municipal Zoo.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and &ter its adoption.
