3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 MAKE VARIOUS VEHICLE PURCHASES FOR THE CITY FROM
5 THE ARKANSAS STATE CONTRACT; AND FOR OTHER
6 PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, it is periodically necessary for the City to purchase certain vehicles
9 for various departments, and to either make these purchases from the state purchase
10 contract pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. § 19 -11 -249 (Michie Repl. 1998), or to advertise for
11 competitive bids and award a contract to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder;
12 and
13 WHEREAS, the City has decided that it is in its best interest to purchase two (2)
14 1/2 -ton pickup trucks, one (1) 1 -ton cab & chassis, one (1) 3/4 -ton 4x4 extended cab pickup
15 trucks, one (1) 1/2 -ton cargo van, one (1) 1/2 -ton 8 passenger van, twelve (12) compact
16 pickup trucks, two (2) 3/4 -ton pickup trucks, one (1) compact utility vehicle, and one (1)
17 3/4 -ton crew cab pickup truck, from the 2004 -2005 Arkansas State Purchasing Contract;
18 and
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
20 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
21 SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to make the following
22 purchases of vehicles pursuant to the state purchasing contract:
23 (a) Two (2) 1/2 -ton pickup trucks and one (1) 1 -ton cab & chassis for an
24 amount not to exceed Forty -seven Thousand, Two Hundred Ninety -six
25 and 01/100 Dollars ($47,296.01) to be purchased from Bale Chevrolet;
26 (b) One (1) 3/4 -ton 4x4 extended cab pickup truck for an amount not to exceed

1 Twenty Thousand, Four Hundred Forty -eight Dollars ($20,448.00) to be
2 purchased from Landers Buick Pontiac GMAQ
3 ( c) One (1) 1/2 -ton cargo van for an amount not to exceed Thirteen Thousand,
4 Two Hundred Thirty -three Dollars ($13,233.00) to be purchased from
5 Landers Chevrolet;
6 (d) One (1) 1/2 -ton 8- passenger van for an amount not to exceed Fifteen
7 Thousand, Four Hundred Seventy -eight Dollars ($15,478.00) to be
8 purchased from Landers Ford;
9 (e) Twelve (12) compact pickup trucks, two (2) 3/4 -ton pickup trucks, one (1)
10 compact utility vehicles for an amount not to exceed One Hundred
11 Ninety -four Thousand, Nine Hundred Eighteen Dollars ($194,918.00) to be
12 purchased from Little Rock Dodge;
13 (f) One (1) 3/4 -ton crew cab pickup for an amount not to exceed Eighteen
14 Thousand, Nine Hundred Sixty -seven Dollars ($18,967.00) to be
15 purchased from North Point Ford;
16 Section 2. Funds for these purchases are to be allocated from the Fleet
17 Services Department 2004 Short Term Financing Account.
18 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
19 are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
20 of such inconsistency.
21 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
22 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
23 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
24 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
25 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
26 resolution.
