HomeMy WebLinkAbout3516 I RESOLUTION NO. 3,516 A RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION TO mRs. D.D. TERRY FOR SFAVICE. ON `IL LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, Mrs. D. D. Terry was appointed to the Library Board of Trustees in, 1926, and has served con- tinuously thereon until December 31, 1965, a span of forty years; and, WHEREAS, during her service on the Library Board of Trustees Mrs. D. D. Terry has consistently been a vital force and a forceful advocate in the development and growth of the Little stock public Library; anti, WHEREAS, Mrs. D. D. Terry is acknowledged as one of the truly outstanding citizens of the City of Little dock and of the State of Arkansas, having in past years, among other notable accomplishments, materially assisted in founding libraries throughout the State of Arkansas and in organizing the Arkansas Library Commission; and HEREkS, this Board of )Directors wishes to express the gratitude and appreciation of the citizens of Little Mock for an invaluable contribution to the public welfare so freely given by Mrs. D. D. Terry through her tenure on the Library Board of Trustees; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY CF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. Mrs. D. D. Terry, one of the outstanding citizens of the City of Little dock, be and is hereby given and extended the appreciation and gratitude of this Board of Directors, acting in its own behalf and in behalf of the - 2 - citizens of Little Rock for her long and notable tenure on the Library Board of Trustees, This Board of Directors recognizes and declares that Mrs. D. D. Terry, through service on the Library Board of Trustees and in her many other civic endeavors, has beer and is one of the leading moral, civic and intellectual influences on this community in all time and that the product of her energy and labor will benefit the City of Little Rock and its citizens for generations to come. SECTLON 2. The City Manager is hereby directed to prepare and deliver to Mrs. D. D. Terry a certificate of appreciation bearing the signatures of each member of this Board of Directors as tangible evidence of this resolution. SECTION 3.
