A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE CITY BEAUTIFUL
COMMISSION FOR ITS OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION
TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK AS EVIDENCED BY
A DISTINGUISHED ACHIEVEMENT AWARD RECENTLY
GIVEN THIS CITY IN THE NATIONWIDE "CLEANEST
CITY" COMPETITION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, on February 24, 1965, the City of Little Rock
received the "Distinguished Achievement Award" from the National
Clean-up - Paint-up - and Fix-up Competition; and
WHEREAS the receipt of this award by the City of Little
Rock was due in great part to the efforts of the City Beautiful
Commission and its many dedicated and active members and as the
result of the splendid cooperation of the citizens of the City
of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, in order to make known and express the gratitude
and pleasure of this Board of Directors for the effort leading
to this award and to recognize the responsible agencies in con-
nection therewith;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The efforts and activies of the City Beautiful
Commission of Little Rock and of its respective members are
hereby acknowledged with gratitude. The City Beautiful Commission
is hereby commended for its diligent efforts in pursuance of its
purposes as evidenced by the receipt of the "Distinguished Achieve-
ment Award" from the National Clean-up - Paint-up - and Fix-up
Competition.
SECTION 2. The City Beautiful Commission is hereby en-
couraged to continue in its efforts toward making Little Rock
more conscious of aesthetic values and to impress upon the
citizens of this City the importance and value of keeping the
City clean and attractive.

SECTION 3. The citizens of the City of Little Rock are
hereby commended for their splendid cooperation under the
guidance of the City Beautiful Commission in making possible
the award referred to above.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
