A RESOLUTION WAIVING REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPETITIVE
BIDDING IN THE PURCHASE OF PARTS FOR FIRE ENGINES;
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE AND PAYMENT THEREOF; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS the City of Little Rock has certain specialized
motor-propelled fire-fighting equipment, manufactured especially
for the purpose of the City of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS parts for said equipment cannot be obtained on the
open market and, in fact, can be obtained solely from the manu-
facturer of the said motor-propelled equipment ; and
WHEREAS the City of Little Rock desires to rebuild the
motors and other parts of certain of said equipment, thereby
avoiding the necessity of replacing said equipment at great and
unnecessary expense; and
WHEREAS it will serve no beneficial purpose of the City of
Little Rock to advertise for bids for said parts for the foregoing
reasons;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1. The necessity for advertising for bids and com-
petitive bidding is hereby waived in connection with the acquisition
of parts and materials for use in the rebuilding of fire-fighting
equipment by the City of Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to procure necessary parts direct from the manufacturer without
competitive bidding for the rebuilding of any and all fire engines
or fire-fighting equipment owned by the City of Little Rock.
SECTION 3. There is hereby directed and authorized the
expenditure of One Thousand One Hundred Seventy-Nine and 94/100
Dollars ($1,179.94) together with such tax and other reasonable
charges in connection with the expenditure of said funds for motor
parts and other working parts of fire-fighting equipment which
currently may need overhauling or rebuilding.

SECTION 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
