A 1ESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION OF THE SERVICES
OF JOHN T. MERIWETHER AS ASSISTANT CITY
MANAGER OF THE CITY OF LITTLE _10CM; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, John T. Meriwether has served as Administrative
Assistant and as Assistant City Manager for the City of Little
Rock since the inception of the City Manager Form of Government
in Little lock; and,
i;iER A3, John Meriwether has now received the recognition
as a professional City Manager befitting his ability and integ-
rity in being awarded the position of City i,anager of Texarkana,
Arkansas; and,
WHEREAS, the outstanding and extraordinary professional
capabilities of John ueriwether have been obvious to this Board
of Directors for many years ; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Directors to
acknowledge and make a matter of record its deepest appreciation
for the talent and professional ability of John Meriwether as
reflected in the many accomplishments of this City during recent
years, toward which accomplishments his efforts have been greatly
material; and,
WHEREAS, though appreciating the fact that the position of
Assistant City Manager is , by its nature, only a phase of the
development and professional progress of those in the field of
City Management and that the loss of John T. Meriwether was
inevitable, this Board, nonetheless, regrets deeply the loss of
such an able administrator; and,
WHEREAS, this Board of Directors wishes every success to
John T. Meriwether, both in his professional and personal
affairs ;

SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the lity of Little Lock
hereby extends its greatest appreciation to John T. Meriwether for
his outstanding service as Assistant City Manager of the City of
Little Rock, and the loss of his competent and able assistance as
an executive officer and public servant will be keenly felt for
the foreseeable future.
SECTION 2. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock
extends its congratulations to John T. Meriwether in his becoming
the City Manager of Texarkana, Arkansas, and wishes him every
personal and professional success, hoping that he will recall
favorably his experiences and activities while in the City of
Little Rock.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
