HomeMy WebLinkAbout3174 , ` RESOLUTION NO . 3,174 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TO STUDY THE POSSIBILITY OF EXPANDING ITS SCOPE OF SERVICE AND TO MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS CONCERNING SAME; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES . WHEREAS , the Traffic Safety Commission of the City of Little Rock, now organized, has done an exceptionally fine job in assist- ing in the effort to promote traffic safety; and WHEREAS, the said Traffic Safety Commission might well be able to assist in the promotion of safety in other critical areas of public and private interest; and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors desires that the Traffic Safety Commission study the possibility of expanding its efforts into other fields of safety within a larger geographic area; and WHEREAS , the Board of Directors desires the recommendation of the Traffic Safety Commission concerning its needs and desires in connection with such expansion of interests. NOS, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The Traffic Safety Commission of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas is hereby requested to give serious consideration to its capabilities of inquiring and becoming interested in other functional areas, such as, home safety and industrial safety in addition to its present interest in traffic safety. SECTION 2. The Traffic Safety Commission is requested to study the propriety and desirability of expanding the program and efforts to the whole of Pulaski County, in addition to the program in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. SECTION 3. The Traffic Safety Commission is hereby requested to study the possibility and propriety of forming an advisory board to the Commission to consist of persons deserving recognition for their interests in safety. - 2 - SECTION 4. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas , requests the Traffic Safety Commission of the City of Little Rock to make positive recommendations on the foregoing matters contained in Sections 1, 2 and 3, herein, as soon as it shall reasonably be possible.
