A RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION FOR POLICE CHIEF R. E.
BRIANS AND THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AS A WHOLE; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS, since his appointment as Chief of the Little Rock
Police Department, R. E. Brians has tirelessly applied himself
to the responsibilities of that office in a dedicated manner guided
by the principles of vigorous fair and impartial law enforcement; and
WHEREAS, in so doing, among other things, he has with the skill
of a true professional, along with chosen members of the Department,
effectively undertaken a program of locating, apprehending and ar-
resting individuals engaged in illegal bookmaking and gambling in
this City; and
WHEREAS, by reason of these efforts, this Communityuill be a
better place to live and we feel confident that the entire populace
is appreciative;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1. The Chief of Police, R. E. Brians, and the entire
membership composing the Police Department of the City of Little Rock
are hereby commended on behalf of the Board of Directors of the City
of Little Rock and all citizens of this community for the dedicated
and tireless effort which they are giving for each of us in what is
too often a thankless responsibility of vigorous fair and impartial
law enforcement.
SECTION 2. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock
and the citizens of this Community support the efforts of the Chief
of Police and all members of the Police Department fully and whole-
heartedly in their endeavors on our behalf.
SECTION 3 . This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
