HomeMy WebLinkAbout2566 RESOLUTION NO. 2566 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE RESIGNATION OF DEAN I. DAUTIEY AS CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF LII TF ROCK, ARKANSAS; COMMENDING SAID DEAN I. DAUT,FY FOR HIS ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS CITY MANAGER OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, Dean I. Dauley has tendered his resignation as City Manager of the City of Little Rock, to be effective August 15, 1960, in order to accept a position with private enterprise which the Board of Directors recognizes as affording Mr. Dauley and his family the security and satisfaction of accomplishment which all men strive for; and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors desires to commend Mr. Dauley to his new employers, after accepting his resignation, by calling attention to the fact that, as Little Rock' s first City Manager under the newly organized City Government, this dynamic personality envisioned a great future for the City- of Little Rock, and through his talents, programed and placed into execu- tion various activities which, along with others planned for the future, will make the City of Little Rock second to none in afford- ing its citizenry the improvements and services to which they are entitled; and WHEREAS, the enviable position in the field of government that the City of Little Rock has now attained is, without question, attributable in large measure to the talents and deliberate and determined efforts of Mr. Dauley. NOW TI-IEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. Mr. Dean I. Dauley's resignation as City Manager of the City of Little Rock, tendered to become effective August 15, 1960, is hereby accepted. — 2 — SECTION 2. Mr. Dauley is commended to his new employers by the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock as a Christian man of vision, courage, integrity and unlimited talent, who has, in a period of two and a half years as the first City Manager for the City of Little Rock, restored the people 's confi- dence in their local government by the fair and impartial enforce- ment of the laws of the City and State within the City limits and by causing to be executed a program of improvements in said City of which everyone is extremely proud, SECTION 3. The City' s loss in the departure of Mr. Dauley is someone else ' s gain, and while his resignation is accepted with regret, it is the intent of this resolution that he depart with best wishes for every success which he so richly deserves.
