A RESOLUTION SOLICITING THE COOPERATION OF THE CITY OF NORTH LITTLE ROCK
IN AN ENDEAVOR TO EXPEDITIOUSLY MOVE THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC BETWEEN AND THROUGH
THE TWO CITIES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS , the City of Little Rock in an endeavor to expeditiously
move traffic through its downtown area going to and coming from the City of
North Little Rock is now installing a new traffic signal system in downtown
Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, the said system will be put into use on Main Street on
or before September 1, 1960, and the entire remainder of said system will
be placed into effect not later than January 1, 1961; and
WHEREAS, such system can be fully effective only if the City of
North Little Rock is able to effectively and expeditiously continue the
movement of said traffic through said City; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors is aware of the desire of the
Officials of the City of North Little Rock to improve upon the movement
of the traffic into and from the City of North Little Rock;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock
hereby solicits the sincere and earnest consideration of the Officials
of North Little Rock toward the adoption of a plan or signal system which
will move the vastly increasing flow of traffic into and out of the City
of North Little Rock and into and out of the City of Little Rock.
SECTION 2. The City of Little Rock stands ready to discuss with
taL Officials of North Little Rock utilization of the services of the Little
Rock Department of Traffic Engineers in whatever capacity such services could
be utilized toward the removal of the complex traffic problem confronting
both Little Rock and North Little Rock.
SECTION 3 . The City Manager is hereby ordered and directed to
forward a copy of this Resolution to the Mayor and Members of the City

Council of the City of North Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
