A RESOLUTION COMM-ENDING CERTAIN PUBLIC AGENCIES AND DEPARTMENTS FOR
THEIR EYFICIENT AND COURAGEOUS ACTIONS IN RESPONSE TO AN EMERGENCY
ARISING ON THURSDAY, MARCH 31, 1960; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Fire Departments of North Little Rock, Arkansas,
Little Rock Air Force Base, Jacksonville, Arkansas, and Little Rock,
Arkansas ; the Police Departments of North Little Rock and Little Rock,
Arkansas; the Members of the Civil Defense and Air Police ; the Salvation
Army; the Members of the Arkansas State Police and Sheriff' s Department
of Pulaski County; and all other agencies responding thereto be, and
hereby are, highly commended and praised by the Board of Directors of
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas , for their efficient and courageous
actions in response to the disaster occuring in Little Rock as a result
of the explosion of a B-47 jet bomber over the City of Little Rock on
Thursday, March 31, 1960, without which the resulting damage to persons
and property in this City would have been without limitation .
SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption .
