A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE MEMBERS OF THE LITTLE ROCK
POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE MANNER IN WHICH THEY HAVE
CONDUCTED THEMSELVES IN MAINTAINING PEACE, SAFETY, AND
GOODWILL IN LITTLE ROCK, DURING THE CRISIS ARISING
FROM INTEGRATION OF LITTLE ROCK CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Little Rock City Council
c ommends the members of the Little Rock Police Department, individually
and as a whole , for the manner in which they have conducted themselves
in their efforts of maintaining the peace , safety and goodwill of
Citizens of the City of Little Rock under the conditions that have
existed in Little Rock since September 21, 1957 when the Honorable
Ronald N. Davies, Acting Judge of the 8th District United States
Court, issued an injunction restraining Governor Orval E . Faubus
from using Arkansas National Guardsmen around Central High School
to insure the peace and safety of the Community; and
BE IT RESOLVED That a copy be sent to the Police Department to be
posted on their bulletin board.
