RESOLUTION NO. 2156
A RESOLUTION FIXING A DATE FOR A HEARING UPON A PETITION
TO CLOSE AND VACATE THAT PORTION OF McKINLEY STREET AND
AN UNNAMED STREET WHICH RUNS SOUTH FROM PART OF THE SOUTH
LINES OF LOT 29 , PINE MANOR ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS, AND LOT 4 OF RANCH VALLEY ADDITION TO THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, BETWEEN LOTS 19 AND 20,
PINEWOOD HILLS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROM, ARKANSAS,
AND HOLLAN 'S SUBDIVISION OF BLOCK 4, PLEASANT HILL ADDITION
TO LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; THAT PORTION OF THE STREET PLATTED
AS ROOSEVELT STREET (SOMETIMES CALLED "L" STREET) WHICH RUNS
EAST FROM THE WEST LINE OF LOT 4, RANCH VALLEY ADDITION TO
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, EXTENDED SOUTH 20 FEET,
BETWEEN BLOCK 3, PLEASANT HILL ADDITION TO LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS, HOLLAN ' S SUBDIVISION OF BLOCK 4, PLEASANT HILL
ADDITION TO LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, AND LOTS 4 THROUGH 9 ,
RANCH VALLEY ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS;
AND THAT PORTION OF THE STREET PLATTED AS GARRET STREET
(SOMETIMES CALLED CLEVELAND STREET) WHICH RUNS FROM THE
SOUTH LINE OF LOT 7 , RANCH VALLEY ADDITION TO THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, SOUTH BETWEEN BLOCK 3 OF PLEASANT
HILL ADDITION TO LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, AND HOLLAN'S SUB-
DIVISION OF BLOCK 4 OF SAID PLEASANT HILL ADDITION.
WHEREAS, Richard F. Maginn, Marie B. Maginn, Mark J. Block,
Sibyll G. Block, Eugene L. Lewis , Mrs . Eugene L. Lewis , Frank H.
Parke, Jr. , Ann A. Parke, Robert H. Wickard, Betty B. Wickard,
Donald A. Briggs, Georgera C. Briggs, Glen H. Oakes, Mrs. Glen H.
Oakes , Wanda S. White, Henry G. Kessler, Dorothy Kessler,
Marjorie F. Turba, John T. Turba, H. Elvin Shuffield, Mrs. H.
Elvin Shuffield, William R. Meeks , Jr. , Sara C. Meeks , W. D.
Austin Smith and Dorothy Mae Smith, have filed with the Little Rock
City Council a petition praying that portions of streets dedicated
in the plat of Pleasant Hill Addition to Little Rock, Arkansas ,
and the plat of Pinewood Hills Addition to the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas , be vacated and closed; said portions of streets being
described as follows :
1. That portion of McKinley Street and an unnamed street
which runs South from part of the South lines of Lot 29 ,
Pine Manor Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas ,
and Lot 4 of Ranch Valley Addition to the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas , between Lots 19 and 20, Pinewood Hills
Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas , and Hollan's
Subdivision of Block 4, Pleasant Hill Addition to Little
Rock, Arkansas ;

2 . That portion of the street platted as Roosevelt
Street (sometimes called "L" Street) which runs
East from the West line of Lot 4, Ranch Valley Addition
to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas , extended South
20 feet, between Block 3, Pleasant Hill Addition to
Little Rock, Arkansas , Hollan's Subdivision of Block 4
of said Pleasant Hill Addition and Lots 4 through 9 ,
Ranch Valley Addition to the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas ;
3. That portion of the street platted as Garret Street
(sometimes called Cleveland Street) which runs from the
South line of Lot 7 , Ranch Valley Addition to the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas , South between Block 3 of
Pleasant Hill Addition to Little Rock, Arkansas, and
Hollan' s Subdivision of Block 4 of said Pleasant Hill
Addition;
and
WHEREAS, the petitioners allege that they are owners of
property abutting upon all portions of streets sought to be
closed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas :
Section 1. That the 29th day of July, 1957 , at 8 :00 p.m. ,
in the Council Chambers at the Little Rock City Hall, is hereby
fixed as the time and place for the hearing upon this petition.
Section 2 . That the City Clerk give notice of such hearing
by publication, once a week for two (2) consecutive week, in some
newspaper published in the County and having general circulation
in the City, stating in said notice the name of the petitioners;
the name of the portions of streets sought to be vacated; a
description of the abutting real property by lot or block numbers ;
and advising all persons that on the date and place named above,
The Council will hear and determine whether said portions of

streets shall be vacated.
