A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING TO THE ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY
COMMISSION THE POSITION OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
REGARDING THE COMPLETION OF THE JEAN BAPTISTE DE LA
HARPE BOULEVARD, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has acquired and cleared
of obstructions all right-of-way as necessary to the construc-
tion of Jean Baptiste de la Harpe Boulevard, with the exception
of certain lands situated in Water Street immediately North of
the Old State House to which the City ' s title has been contested;
and
WHEREAS, the City ' s title to the aforementioned lands has
been affirmed by the Pulaski County Chancery Court; and
WHEREAS, completion of the construction with all possible
expedition is most desirable considering the City' s investment
in right-of-way and the relief such completion will afford the
traffic situation :
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the interest of the City of Little Rock,
in the continuing and expeditious development of the project by
whatever means and in such stages as are feasible, is herewith
conveyed to the Arkansas State Highway Connuission .
SECTION 2 . That this resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its adoption by the City Council and
approval by the Mayor.
