A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING O. LONGSTRETH,
JR. , CI'T'Y ATTORNEY OF TH:E CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS,
TO INTERVENE IN AN APPLICATION OF THE ARKANSAS POWER
LIGHT COMPANY FOR HIGHER RATES, •:RICH IS FILED AS DOCKET
NO. U-1073 BEFORE THE ARKANSAS PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION,
AND STYTRD IN THE MATTER OF THE ARKANSAS POWER & LIGHT
COMPANY REQUESTING THAT ELECTRIC RATE SCHEDULES ATTACHED
TO THIS APPLICATION AND ALSO FILED THIS DAY BE APPROVED
AND MADE EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, ON BEHALF OF TIC CITIZENS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK AND OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
REQUESTING THE CITY CT,-NRK TO FURNISH A CERT.Lb'IED COPY OF
SAID RESOLUTION TO THE CITY ATTORNEY FOR FILING WITH THE
ARKANSAS PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, a new rate schedule was filed by the Arkansas
Power Light Company as of November 9, 1955; and
WHEREAS, under Section 1 of Rule 2 of the Rules of Prac-
tice and Procedure of the Arkansas Public Service Commission, it
is necessary that the City Council of the City of Little Rock
pass a Resolution directing and authorizing the City Attorney
to intervene on behalf of the citizens of Little Rock, Arkansas
who are consumers of electricity supplied by said company and of
the City of Little Rock in this matter;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS;
SECTION 1. That 0. D. Longstreth, Jr. , City Attorney for
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, be and he is hereby directed,
authorized and empowered to intervene, on behalf of residents of
the City of Little Rock who are consumers of electricity supplied
by the Arkansas Power Light Company and of the City of Little
Rock, in an application of the Arkansas Power w Light Company for
higher rates, which is filed as Docket No. U-1073 before the
Arkansas Public Service Commission.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk is Hereby requested to fur-
nish said 0. D. Longstreth, Jr. , City Attorney, with a certified
copy of this Resolution so that he may attach it to any interven-
tion which he may find it necessary to file in Docket No. U-1073
before the Arkansas Public Service Commission.
SECTION 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its adoption by the City Council
and approval by the Mayor.
