A RESOLUTION RESTRICTING THE DISPATCH OF FIREMEN
AND FIRE EQUIPMENT BEYOND THE CITY LIMITS OF THE
CITY OF LITTT.F ROCK, ESTABLISHING A SET RULE GOV-
ERNING SAID EQUIPMENT, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has, in the past, rendered
service for fire protection to some individuals outside the City
limits under contract for said service, and on other occasions
have rendered service without contract to some persons owning
property outside the City limits ; and
WHEREAS, the Little Rock Fire Department has been unable
to determine upon whose authority the Fire Department should
make calls outside the City of Little Rock, and because of the
uncertainty of the distance outside of the City and what calls
should be made and snould not be made; and
WHEREAS, the fire equipment for the City of Little Rock
was purchased by the citizens of the City of Little Rock, and
the employees are paid by the citizens of the City of Little
Rock; and
WHEREAS, the Little Rock Fire Department is equipped and
manned to serve only the City of Little Rock:
NOV , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LI 1 TLF ROCK, ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1. That the fire equipment, facilities, and fire-
men of the Little Rock Fire Department shall not leave the City
of Little Rock to serve fires or areas beyond the City of Little
Rock except, upon the approval of the Chief of the Fire Depart-
ment, to protect the property of the City of Little Rock or to
fulfill now existing contracts.
SECTION 2. That this resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its parscsagerxemobappromairx ado;:tion.
