HomeMy WebLinkAbout1936 RESOLUTION NO. 1936 A RESOLUTION CONDONING THE FAILURE OF THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TO F' ILE A BOND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVI- SIONS OF SECTION 412 OF THE DIGEST OF THE CITY ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS OF BRICKHOUSE AND CASTLE OF 1932. 1^JHEREAS, the Honorable Pratt C . Remmel took office as Mayor of the City of Little Rock on January 1, 1952; and WHEREAS; he failed to comply with Section 412 of Brickhouse and Castle ' s Digest of City Ordinances and Resolutions of 1932; and WHEREAS, the said office of Mayor would be vacant under Sec- tion 413 of the aforesaid Digest unless the failure of said Mayor Pratt C. Remmel shall be excused or condoned by the City Council; and l&HEREAS, the Honorable Pratt C . Remmel as Mayor of Little Rock, Arkansas, has now filed a bond in the approved sum of 910, 000. 00; and WHEREAS , said bond has been approved by the City Attorney' s office for legality; and WHEREAS ,the City Council is of the opinion that the failure to f ile said bond was an oversight on the part of the Honorable Pratt C. Remmel, Mayor of the City of Little Rock; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS : SECTION 1. That the failure of the Honorable Pratt C . Remmel, duly elected Mayor of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, to file a bond of $10,000.00 within the time limit prescribed by Section 412 of the Brickhouse and Castle Digest is Hereby excused and condoned by the City Council. SECTION 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the City Council and approval by the Mayor .
