A RESOLUTION FIXING A DATE FOR NOTICE OF A TINE AND
PLACE FOR ALL PERSONS TO BE HEARD ON THE PETITION OF
THE LITTLE ROCK MUNICIPAL AIRPORT COMMISSION ASKING -D ALLEYS
THAT STREETS AND PARTS OF S TREETS/11v'1' E vrcrim '
THE LITTT,F ROCK AIRPORT WHICH ARE IN THE INDUSTRIAL
PARK ADDITION, ANNEX NO. 1, TO THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK BE VACATED AND ABANDONED BY THE CITY OF LITTT.F,
ROCK SO THAT THERE MAY BE AN EXTENSION OF THE NE/SW
RUM AY TO PROVIDE T,FNGTH OF RUNWAY REQUIRED FOR A
NATIONAL GUARD SQUADRON.
WHEREAS a petition has been duly filed with the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas, on September C , 1952, asking
the City Council to release, vacate and abandon portions of
and alleys
streets/designated on the plat of the Industrial Park Addition,
Annex No. 1, to the City of Little Rock which now appear of
record in plat Book 3, page 32, in the office of the Recorder
and alleys
of Pulaski County, said streets/being described as follows:
1. Lawson Street lying south of East 10th Street and north
of the south line of Lot No. 2, Block 76 of Industrial Park
Addition, Annex No. 1.
2. River Street south of East 10th Street and north of
East 12th Street between Blocks 59 and 60 of Industrial Park
Addition, Annex No. 1.
3 . East 12th Street between Blocks 59, 60 and 81 of
Industrial Park Addition, fainex No. 1.
4. East 14th Street between Blocks 80 and 81 of Industrial
park Addition, Annex No . 1.
5. East 15th Street between Blocks 76 and 81 of Industrial
park Addition, Annex No. 1.
6. The alley lying through Blocks 60, 80 and 81 from East
10th Street south to East 15th Street in Industrial Park Addition,
Annex No. 1, and the alley lying east of Blocks No. 80 and 81 in
Industrial Park Addition, Annex No . 1.
7. East 10th Street from the east line of River Street
eastward between Blocks 57 of Industrial Park Addition and 59
of Industrial Park Addition, Annex No. 1.
8. The extension of Last 10th Street eastward on a bearing
of S 89° 57! from the east boundary of Industrial Park Addition,
Annex No. 1, a distance of 893 feet, to the point of beginning of

a 10 degree curve to the right and continuing along the curve a
distance of 671 feet measured along the center line of said East
10th Street extension, the right-of-way width of said street
being 60 feet.
9. East 26th Street, also known as Roosevelt Road exten-
sion, from a point in the center of existing paved surface,
being 407 feet south and 1716.86 feet east of the NW corner of
Section 13, Township 1 North, Range 12 West, which point is the
west right-of-way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad, east-
ward a distance of 1875 feet; and
WHEREAS a request has been made in the petition that
a time and place be set by the City Council so that anyone object-
and alleys
ing to the abandonment and closing of said streets/can be heard:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1. That September 22 , 1952, be set
as the date for a hearing on the petition to abandon and close
and alleys
the aforesaid portions of streets/and that the City Clerk shall
advertise, as required by law, for a period of two weeks the time
and place of said public hearing.
SECTION 2. That at the present time and because of

the war emergency, there is great need that these streets/be
vacated and abandoned so that the necessary runway may be
provided for use of the National Guard squadron and that it is
therefore declared that an emergency exists and that it is
necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and
safety that an immediate date be set for a hearing on the matter
and alleys
of closing and abandoning str"ets/as set forth above, and that
this resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after
its passage.
