HomeMy WebLinkAbout1917 RESOLUTION NO. 1917 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE LITTLE ROCK MUNICIPAL AIRPORT COMMISSION TO ACCEPT A RELEASE FROM THE ARKANSAS NATIONAL GUARD TO THE COMMISSION OF BUILDING T-41 AND TO T,F,ASE TO THE NATIONAL GUARD AN AREA KNOWN AS THE MOTOR POOL, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS the Arkansas National Guard is desirous of releas- ing to the Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission their lease on a building in the Little Rock Municipal Airport grounds known as Building T-41, together with land approximately ten ( 10) feet West of this building and to a point North to the area leased to the Arkansas Valley Compress Company, and WHEREAS said National Guard desires to lease from the Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission the area known as the Motor Pool presently enclosed by a fence : NOW, THERI4;FORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. That the Little Rock Airport Commission be authorized to accept from the Arkansas National Guard the release of Building T-41, together with land approximately ten ( 10) feet West of this building and to a point North to the area leased to the Arkansas Valley Compress Company, described as follows: A parcel of land comprising a portion of Adams Field, Little Rock Municipal Airport, formerly leased by the City of Little Rock to the United States Government for use of the Arkansas National Guard, said parcel being a part of the SW-41- of the NE4 of Section 12, Township 1 North, Range 12 West, of the 5th Principal Meridian, more particularly described as follows : Commencing at an iron pin marking the Southwest corner of the SE- of the NE-4,- of said Section 12; thence North 227.3 feet to a point; thence West 500 feet to a point; thence North 344 .4 feet to a point of beginning, said point being the Northeast corner of the aforementioned lease; thence West 53 .5 feet; thence South 238 feet; thence East 53 .5 feet; thence North 238 feet to the point of beginning. This parcel being a rectangular strip lying 238 feet North and South and 53 .5 feet East and West and containing 0.29 acres, more or less . SECTION 2. That the Little Rock Municipal Airport Commis- sion is authorized to lease to the Arkansas National Guard an area known as the Motor Pool and which is presently enclosed by a fence, described as follows: A parcel of land comprising a portion of Adams Field, Little Rock Municipal Airport, lying West of the site of Building No. 24, as described in Little Rock City Ordinance No. 4934 and more particularly described as follows: -2- Commencing at an iron pin marking the Southwest corner of the SEe of the NEe of Section 12, Township 1 North, Range 12 West, of the 5th Principal Meridian; thence West 553 .5 feet to a point; thence North 571.7 feet to the Southeast corner of the lease made to the Arkansas Valley Compress and Warehouse Company by the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, dated the 31st day of December, 1931; thence North along the East side of the property described in said lease to the Northeast corner thereof ; thence West along the North side of the proper- ty described in said lease to the Northwest corner thereof for a point of beginning; running thence West a distance of 220.6 fecct to the West line of the Municipal Airport property, said line being the East line of Railroad Avenue; thence Southeaster- ly along said property line a distance of 187 feet; thence Easterly parallel with a railroad spur track serving the ware- house property to 1:est line of the aforementioned rirkaz sas Valley Compress and Warehouse Company lease; thence North along the West line of said lease to the point of beginning.
