HomeMy WebLinkAbout1912 RESOLUTION No. 1912 A RESOLUTION FIXING A DATE FOR A HEARING BY THIS COUNCIL OF A PETITION TO VACATE AN ALLEY RUNNING EAST AND WEST IN BLOCK NINE (9) , S. J. JOHNSON'S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO GIVE NOTICE OF SUCH MEETING; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City Council hereby fixes the date of September 24, 1951 at 8:00 o' clock P.M. or as soon thereafter as may be con- venient for this Council to hear a petition to vacate the alley running East and West in Block Nine ( 9 ) , S. J. Johnson' s Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas and separating Lots One (1 ) , Two ( 2) , Three ( 3) , Four (4) and Five ( 5) in said block from Lots Six (6) , Seven ( 7) , Eight (8) , Nine (9 ) and Ten ( 10) . SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to give notice in the manner provided by law of the meeting fixed in Section One of this Resolution; such notice shall be given by publication once a week for two consecutive weeks in some newspaper published in Pulaski County, Arkansas and having a general circu- lation in Little Rock, Arkansas. Said notice shall state among any other things required by law that G. C . Evans, Sr. and Jack L. Nix have filed a petition to vacate the alley running East and West through Block Nine (9 ) , S. J. Johnson's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas and sep- arating Lots One ( 1 ) , Two (2 ) , Three (3) , Four ( 4) and Five ( 5) in said block from Lots Six ( 6) , Seven ( 7) , Eight (8) , Nine ( 9 ) and Ten (10) , and said notice shall advise all persons that on September 24, 1951 at 8:00 o ' clock P.M. , or as soon thereafter as may be con- venient to the Council, this Council will hear and determine whether said alley shall be vacated as requested in the petition.
