A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES TO REMOVE THE LIGHTS, BLEACHERS, AND PHYSICAL EQUIPMENT OF ZEE LITTLE ROCK SUNDAY SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION SOFTBALL FIELD . WHEREAS, The City of Little Rock, previous to the erection of the Memorial Stadium at the fair grounds gave permission to the Little Rock Sunday School Athletic Association to erect a softball field in Fair Park suitable for night softball contests between the various Sunday Schools in the City of Little Rock, and WHEREAS, Said field was constructed , prepared and erected at great expense to the Little Rock Sunday School Athletic Association in order to provide additional recreational facilities for the enjoyment of the people of the City of Little Rock, and WHEREAS , This field has been extensively used and enjoyed during the softball season by a large number of people and it has contributed to the en- tertainment , well being, and enjoyment cf the people of the City of Little Rock, and WHEREAS , Said property, since the erection of this softball field , has been turn- ed over to the Memorial Stadium to be used as a parking lot for the patrons and customers attending the athletic and other events to be held in this stadium. Since it is necessary to remove the bleachers , lights and other physical equipment of the Little Rock Sunday School Athletic Association to a different place in Fair Park, it behooves the City of Little Pock to assist in the removal of such bleachers , lights and physical equipment, \TOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARK: SECTION 1. The City Electrician is hereby authorized and airect- ed to remove the lights and poles from the present softball site to the new site for the softball field west of the present location of the merry-go-round , which is along the roue h of the 15th hole of the Little Rock Nitnicipal Golf Course , the exact place tc be designated by the Superintendent of the Parks and Recreation Department. n. -2- SECTION 2. The City Engineer is hereby authorized and direct- ed to remove the bleachers ana other physical equipment upon the present softball field of the Little Rock Sunday School Athletic Association and erect same in a suitable conditicn upcn the new :lay- ing field above described . The City Engineer is further directea to grade, level and fill the said playing field so that the same will be placed in a satisfactory playing condition. SECTIOri 3. The City Electrician and City En#ineer shall perform the above named services at their discretion, but at such times as to insure the completion of this work at a date not later than the December , 1948, 15th day of/ XXXXXXXZXXXX so that the softball league of the Little rock Sunday Schools may continue its program.
