RESOLUTION REGULATING THE SHOWING OF CARNIVALS IN LITTLE
ROCK UNTIL MAY 10, 1948, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, The Little Rock Parks and Recreation Commission
will sponsor its annual carnival to raise funds for the purchase
of animals for the Fair Park Zoo from May 3 through May 8, 1948
and,
WHEREAS, the amusement area in Fair Park will open for
the 1948 season Easter Sunday, March 28th and,
WHEREAS, both of these worthwhile projects are sufficient
in caring for the commercial needs of the residents of Little
Rock in this type of amusement,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Collector be directed not to
issue ;ny permits for carnivals or traveling shows of this
nature except circuses from April 1st, 1948 until May 10, 1948.
