RESOLUTION NO. 1734
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HORACE A. ILLING TO
OPERATE BUSSES FROM A POINT WITHIN THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK TO POINTS BEYOND THE LIMITS
BUT WITHIN FIVE MILE THEREOF (as set out
herein) , AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
CITY COLLECTOR TO ISSUE A PERMIT THEREFOR.
WHEREAS, upon motion duly adopted by the Council of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas, the petition of applicant,
Horace A. Illing, was referred to a committee of said Council;
that said committee held a public hearing thereon on the 21st
day of March, 1947, at which hearing all persons interested
or affected by said application were given opportunity to be
heard; that said committee rendered a decision on the 21st day
of March, 1947, recommending that a permit be granted petitioner,
provided adequate service was rendered, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
That the public convenience and necessity of the citizens
and residents of Little Rock and the area affected requires the
additional service of the class and character described in the
application of Horace A. Illing, and from the testimony adduced
it is found that:
(a) Horace A. Illing is capable of performing a service
of the quality and permanence stated in his application;
(b) That his financial ability and moral responsibility are
sufficient;
(c) The character of vehicles to be used and the nature and
location of his depots and terminals are sufficient;
(d) The experience of applicant in similar operations is
sufficient, and,
(e) That the existing service between the points proposed
to be served by applicant, viz:
From Sixth and Center Streets in Little Rock,
Arkansas, south on Center Street to West Tenth
Street; East on West Tenth Street to Main Street;
south on Main Street to State Highway 65; east along
Highway 65 to an intersection with a County Road at
Freshour Brothers; East on County Road to Minnesota
Mining & Manufacturing Company.
is inadequate.
The City Collector of the City of Little Rock is,therefore,
hereby authorized and directed to issue to the said Horace A.
Illing, a permit to operate busses as above set out.
