A RESOLUTION DECLARING A POLICY CONCERNING CONTRIBUTION BY
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TOWARD THE COST OF PROVIDING RIGHT-
OF-WAY FOR THE EAST AND LEVEE.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has been afflicted by
many serious floods in its eastern section, and
1—LEI'-EAS, the residents, industries, and municipal pro-
perties in thi6 locality are suffering from lack of flood
protection, and
WHEREAS, at this time the United States Government is
willing to provide levees for flood protection so as to pro-
tect the health and properties of citizens of Little Rock, if
the local interests will provide the necessary right-of-way
and maintenance, and
WHEREAS, the residents and industries to be protected are
organizing to do their proportionate part and believe it is
necessary at this time to find out the position of the City
of Little Rock in this matter,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: That the Gity of Little Rock hereby pledges
itself to contribute the proportionate part it finds necessary
of the amount needed to provide the right-of-way for the East
End Levee.
