RESOLUTION NO. 1700
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CERTAIN PERSONS TO OPERATE MOTOR
VEHICLES AS COMMON CARRIERS IN TRANSPORTING PERSONS FOR
HIRE FROM THE CITY TO POINTS WITHIN A RADIUS OF FIVE MILES
BEYOND THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY, AND FOR OCCASIONAL
TRIPS TEN MILES BEYOND SUCH CORPORATE LIMITS ; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES .
WHEREAS : The persons hereinafter listed have made appli-
cation to operate as common carriers under the provisions of
Ordinance No. 5990, as amended, and,
WHEREAS : The Council and the Public Utilities Committee
of the Council have investigated said applications and have
determined that said applications should be granted, now there-
fore :
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK , ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1. Horace A. Illing, Arthur Barnes , E . L.
Richardson, Henry W. Dodson, J. T . Thompson and Bennie Keown
are hereby authorized to operate motor driven vehicles in
the business of transporting persons for hire over the routes
set opposite their respective names , as follows :
Horace A. Illing : From College Station
along the county road to the City limits
of Little Rock at the foot of East Seven-
teenth Street; north on Airport Boulevard
(formerly Bond Street) to East Ninth
Street ; west on Ninth Street to Center
Street ; north on Center Street to the
terminus at Sixth and Center Streets .
Arthur Barnes : From College Station to
7th and Center Streets in Little Rock,
via the following Route : over Airport
Boulevard, formerly Bond Street to 9th
Street , West on 9th Street to Byrd,
North on Byrd to 8th, West on 8th Street
to Louisiana, North on Louisiana to 7th,
Nest on 7th to 7th and Center .
E. L. Richardson: From College Station
to Little Rock at 7th and Center , via
the following Route : over Airport
Boulevard, formerly Bond Street , to 9th
Street , West on 9th Street to Byrd,
North on Byrd to 8th, West on 8th Street
to Louisiana, North on Louisiana to 7th,
West on 7th to 7th and Center .

Henry W. Dodson: From College Station
to Little Rock at 7th and Center , via
the following Route : over Airport
Boulevard, formerly Bond Street, to 9th
Street , West on 9th Street to Byrd,
North on Byrd to 8th, West on 8th Street
to Louisiana, North on Louisiana to 7th,
West on 7th to 7th and Center .
J . T . Thompson: From College Station to
Little Rock at 7th and Center , via the
following route : over Airport Boulevard,
formerly Bond Street , to 9th Street , West
on 9th Street to Byrd, North on Byrd to
8th, West on 8th Street to Louisiana,
North on Louisiana to 7th, West on 7th to
7th and Center.
Bennie Keown : From College Station to
Little Rock at 7th and Center , via the
following Route : over Airport Boulevard,
formerly Bond Street , to 9th Street , West
on 9th Street to Byrd, North on Byrd to
8th, West on 8th Street to Louisiana,
North on Louisiana to 7th, West on 7th to
7th and Center .
SECTION 2. The city clerk_ is hereby directed to issue
to the persons named in Section 1 of this Resolution a lic-
ense permitting such operation when and if said applicants
comply with all other applicable provisions prerequisite to
the issuance of such license .
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage .
