RESOLUTION NO. 1693.
A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED CLOSING AND
ABANDONING OF THAT PART OF WEST NINTH STREET 'LING BETWEEN THAYER
AVENUE AND THE ROCK ISLAND RAILROAD FIGHT-OF-WAY; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the City Council of the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas on the !14th day of December , 1945
by S. C. Woods and Maude E. Woods asking that the City Council vacate
and abandon all that portion of West Ninth Street lying between
Thayer .,ivenue and the Rock Island Railroad right-of-way, which said
portion of said West Ninth Street is abutted by Lots 7 , 8 , 9 , 10 ,
Block 1 , and Lots 8 , 9 , 10 and a part of Lot 11, :Block 8, all in
Roots' and Coy' s addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and,
taTTZEREi,S, all of the above described property which abuts the
involved portion of best Ninth Street is owned by the petitioners ,
J. C. .roods and :;laude E. floods.
' NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City
of Little Rock, irkansas that the 7th day of _ January L_ ,
1946 be fixed as the day for hearing the petition to V,a.cate the
aforesaid portion of West Ninth Street , and the City Clerk of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas is hereby directed to give notice of ,
r -e a week, for two consecutive weeks

in some newspaper published in Pulaski County and having a general
circulation in the City of Little Rock. The said notice so given
shall state the nare of the persons who signed the petition and the
nacre of the street , a portion of which is to be vacated, and shall
include a description showing the lots and blocks abuttinc the
Portion of the street to be vacated. All Persons shall be advised
that on the day hared in the notice the Council will deterrine
whether or not the said portion of West Ninth Street should be
ivacated.
