A RESOLUTION DECLARING A POLICY ':ITH REGARD TO PROMOTIONS , AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, various employees of the City of Little Rock have be-
come members of the Armed Forces of the United States of America or
have otherwise served their Country, and
WHEREAS, these employees are unable to take examinations for
promotions in the Citys employ, and,
: .. 'iS, the City Council has found and hereby declares that
fairness to said employees and the best interests of the City re-
quire that such employees should have an opportunity to receive
promotions , now therefore ,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROC::, AZ;. :A:LLS '
SECTION 1 . It is hereby declared to be the policy of the City
of Little Rock, to be followed henceforth, that no promotions hereafter
made in any branch of the City Government, or any departments thereof,
shall be permanent and final until six months following the declaration
by the President of the United States of America of the termination of
the present emergency; and any promotions made hereafter shall be
temporary promotions only until such time as they may thereafter be
made permanent by- further action.
