A RESOLUTION NAMING THr, R CONBThUCTED GOLF CLUB BUILDING IN
FAIR PARK HMAJOR Dt,NT CLUB HOUSE.
VrHEREAB; On the Seventh day of February, 1942, the
Club House at Fair Park was almost destroyed by fire; that only
the walls were left standing, and being exposed to the weather
were rapidly deteriorating; and that due to war conditions and
the scarcity of mechanics and materials , immense difficulty was
incurred in reconstructing the building; and
WHEREAS; A member of the Little hock City Council ,
major Dent, Alderman of the First Ward and a member of the Parks
Committee , at the request of the mayor, and at a time when
reconstruction seemed impossible, assumed the responsibility of
the reconstruction of the Club House building, and has given much
of his time and rendered valuable services in adjusting the
insurance loss , in letting the reconstruction contract, and in
arranging for materials for the reconstruction of the Club House.
THEREFORE, BE IT RE�uLVr.D by the City Council of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas , that the very valuable service that
or Dent has rendered be recognized by naming the Club House at
Fair Park "major Dent Club House. "
