WHEREAS, The revenues accruing to the credit of the Highway Fund of the State of Arkansas for the retirement of bonds of the state have greatlwy exceeddd the sum of $10,000,000.00 and as provided under Act 11 of the Acts of the Special Session of the General Assembly of 1934 there is now available an additional one/fourth cent turnback; and WHEREAS, For the past 17 years the citizens of the City of Little Rock have contributed the greater portion of the gasoline tax collected from the county for the construction of a system of state highways and farm to market roads; and WHEREAS, This additional one/fourth cent can be allocated by the general assembly now in special session without in any way affecting the credit of the state or violating the provisions of the state ' s contract with its bond holders; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED By the City Council of the City of Little Rock that it go on record as respectfully requesting each and every member of the Pulaski county delegation in the House and Senate to do all in their power and to vote for and support any measure which will give to the City of Little Rock and other municipalities a share of the one/fourth of a cent turnback PBPBEPRPPBB on the gasoline tax to be used by the municipalities for street work; and be it further resolved that a copy of this reso ution be sent to each member of the House and Senate from Pulaski County.
