HomeMy WebLinkAbout1420 RESOLUTION NO. 1420 WHEREAS, The finances of the City are in a precarious condition; and WHEREAS, It is the sense of the Council that no additional nuisance taxes should be imposed upon the people; and WHEREAS, Several ordinances are now pending before the Utility Committee with reference to imposing upon the utilities fair and just privilege taxes which would increase the city ' s revenue considerably; and WHEREAS, The Council feels that these matters are of sufficient importance to warrant study by a special committee; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, That, Aldermen Gibb, Craig, Sprick, Gulley, and Winder be named a special committee to study the privilege tax condition of the utilities operating in Little Rock and that all ordinances now pending before the council or before any of the committees of the council be referred to this committee and that the committee be instructed to report back to the council at the earliest possible date.
