AN O- DINANCE. AIvENDING SE=CTION NO. 83 OF O 'DINANCE NO. 713,
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

Section 1. That Section J837 of Ordinance No. 713, passed.
December 6, 1897, being Section 1030 of Hale's Digest of the
Cit -v Ordinances, be, and the same is hereby amended to read as
follows:-
" Each telegraph, telephone, electric light or
rower company shall pav annually a sum equal to seventy -five
(.75.1) cents for each pole used by them or set up, and a license
tax on all conduits constructed to an amount equal to four poles
to each block, whether such poles are leased, rented or owned
by them. "
Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed,insofar as they conflict,
and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its rassage .
