ORDINANCE NO. 28950
An -Ordinance Prescribing the idethod of ITumbering the houses in
the 'I;'estern i ortion of the City of Little Rock, 1tequiring the
Correction of the Numbering of Certain Houses, Providing a
i'iore Efficient System of recording and Designating the
Numbers for Houses in All Portions of the City, Pro-
viding a ienalty for Violation of this Ordinance,
and for other purposes.

Section 1. All houses and places of business in t'-e City
of Little Rock lying west of Summit Avenue and facing streets run-
riifig east and west shall be numbered as hereinafter 'designated:

Section 2. The base from which the nun: bering of each
bloc,• shall begin shall be the east side of said block, and the
residences and buildings on said streets shall be numbered from
the unit first named above upwards so as to provide one number -foi
every half lot or every twenty -five feet as is now provided by the)
general ordinances of the City of Little Hoch.
v/Section 3. Every person owning or occupying any house
or building required to be numbered by this ordinance or re -num-
bered under the provisions hereof shall number the same with the
appropriate number, which shall be furnished him by the City Engi -E

neer, and shall cause such number to be either painted upon such
I residence or building or placed thereupon in some legible manner,

with figures not less than three inches in length, and hereafter
the City Engineer, upon issuing the building permit for any house
or building at any point in the City of Little Rock, shall at the
same time L"urnish to such person so erecting such house or build -
ing, or his agent, the appropriate number to be carried by said
house or building.
Section 4. All persons, firms and corporations living
in the area described in Section 1 of. this ordinance, whose houses
or buildings are incorrectly numbered, shall be notified by the
City Engineer, as early as possible after the passage of this ordii

ing and shall thereafter, within a period of ten Nays, place the
correct and proper number thereupon; and any other persons, firms
or corporations owning any houses or buildings of any description
in other portions of the city which have upon them incorrect num-
bers Or which have no nunbers whatever upon them shall be notified,
as soon as knowledge of said lack of number or incorrect number
comes to the City Engineer, and shall within a period of ten days
place the correct number upon said house or building as `iven to
such person, fire: or corporation by the City Engineer.
Section 5. Any person, firm or corporation who shall
fail or -refuse to number any louse or building of any description
in the City of Little mock, or who shall fail to correct said num-
bers within a period of ten days after notice has been given to
such person,. firm or corporation by the City Engineer, shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction fined in any su
not less than ?5.0C nor more than x25.00.
Section 6. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall
take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
