"An Ordinance Authorizing the Funding and
Reissuance of $25,000 Outstanding Hospital
Warrants of the City of Little R.-k."
WHEREAS, there are outstanding war
rants of the City of Little Rock of the aggre-
gate amount of $25,000 duly issued for work
and material on the new ; °b hospital, and
there are not funds in hams nor their pay-
ment• and r
WHEREAS, said warrants have been pre -
sented to the City and their re- issuance re-
quested by the holder thereof, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of
Little Rock has examined all the facts rela-
tive to the indebtedness for which such war-
rants were issued and to the issuance of said
warrants and has found and does hereby find,
adjudge and declare that each of said war-
rants was duly and properly issued for a
municipal purpose and that the said City has
received in the case of each of such warrants
at least the face amount thereof and that
the said warrants aggregating $25,000 and
the indebtedness represented thereby are valid
and that no part of said warrants or indebted-
ness has been paid: NOW. THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of

Section 1. The said $25,000 be funded and reissued and threpresented thereby extended bof negotiable warrants of tl city of L

numbered from to inclusive. Each
such warrant may bear the inscription, "
such note (a negotiable warrant " shall
be of the denomination of 0 each. It
shall be dated 922, and shall be
payable on September 25th, 1923.

(A Negotiable Warrant)
The City of Little Rock, a municipal corpor-
ation in the County of Pulaski and State of
Arkansas, hereby acknowledges itself indebted
and promises to pay and the City Treasurer is
fiereby ordered to pay to the bearer the sum of
ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000)
in lawful money of the United States of
America, at the CHASE NATIONAL BANK,
New York City, on the 25th day of Septem-
ber, 1923.
This warrant is issued pursuant to the con-
stitution and statutes of the State of Arkan-
sas, including Act No. 383 of the Acts of
Arkansas of 1917, and an ordinance adopted
he City Council of the City of Little Rock
on , 1922, for the purpose of ex-

i tending the payment of certain indebtedness
of said City by exchanging outstanding war.

It is hereby certified and recited that all I
conditions, acts and things required by the
constitution and statutes of the State of Ar
kansas to exist, be performed and happen pre -
cedent to or in the issuance of this warrant,
or the incurring of the indebtedness evidencedi
thereby, have been Properly done and per-
formed in regular and due form as required
by law, and that said warrants and indebted-
ness, together with all other indebtedness of
the City of Little Rock, is within every debt
and other limit prescribed by the constitution
or statutes of said State and that no part of
said warrant or the indebtedness evidenced
thereby has been paid. The full faith, credit
and resources of said City are hereby pledged
to the punctual payment of this warrant in
accordance with its terms.

'Section S. The Mayor, City Clerk and City
Treasurer are hereby authorized and directed
to execute register and record said warrants,
and to issue and deliver said warrants to the
holders of said outstanding $25,000.00 of war-
rants upon receiving from said holders the said
outstanding warrants. Each of said outstand-
ing warrants when exchanged shall be can-
celled by perforation by the City Clerk and
stamped "cancelled upon Issuance of new
warrant in exchange."
Section 4. This ordinance is hereby de-
termined to be an ordinance for the support,
and maintenance of the various branches of
the municipal government of the City of Little
Rock.
