DISTRICT NO. 296 OF THa CITY OF LITTLE RCOK,
ARKAN` AS .
T'HF?EAS, A majority of the o mers of real property adjoining
the locality to be affected and situated within the Gaines Street
annex to Street Improvement ?District No. 296 of the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas, said property being described as follows; to-- •,iit:
Lots 1, 29, 32 4, 5 and 6 of Block 6, and Lots 7,
8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 of Block 11, am in Kimballs
South .dark addition to the City of Little Rock,
Pulaski County, Arkansas;
organized and annexed for the purpose of making local improvements
therein by grading and paving Gaines Street, from the north property
line of 'test 30th )treet to the north property line of "est 31st
Street in the same manner and .ith the same materials and according
to the same yolans and specifications that have been adopted, or may
hereafter be adopted by the Commissioners for said Street Improve-
ment District No. 296, have petitioned the City Council of Little
Rock for the construction of said improvements, and that the cost
thereof shall be assessed upon the real property within said annexed
territory according to the benefits received; and
- Mi,'REAS, The said benefits received by each and every block,
lot and parcel of real property situated Within said annexed territory
equals or exceeds the legal assessment thereon; and
771F,3EA9 9 The estimated cost of said improvement is $22472.00
in the territory annexed, -rhich together with the estimated cost of
the improvements in Street Improvement District No. 296 is less than
twenty per cent (20 %) of the value of the real property in said
Street Improvement District No. 296 and the annexed territory com-
bined, as sholm by the last County assessment;
THE3?FORE IT IS NOT" ORDAINED BY THE: CITY COUNCIL OF THP, CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

Section 1: That the said several blocks, lots and �arcels of
real property T*ithin the Gaines Street annexed territory, as herein-
before described, to Street Improvement District No. 296 be, and they
are hereby assessed according to the assessment list for said annex
as the same now remains in the office of the City Clerk of the City
of Little Rock, and as the same may be annually readjusted by the
Board of Assessors, and that ten per centum of said assessment of
the value of the benefits of each of said blocks, lots and parcels
of land, shall be paid annually on or before the first day of March
of each year until the whole of said assessment shall have been paid,
The first annual payment shall be made on or before the first day
of March, 1923,
Section 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed, this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage.
