WHEREAS, persons claiming to be a majority in value of the owners of real property within the territory hereinafter de- scribed, which property adjoins Street Improvement District No, 315 of Little Noce:, Arkansas, a duly created and existing im- provement district in said city, desire to be added to and in- cluded in said improvement district, and have filed a petition with the City Council of the city of Little Rock, Arkansas, praying that said territory be annexed to said improvement dis- trict and have aesignated the nature of the improvement to be undertaken, and have uescribed the territory to be annexed, and, V_'HEREAS, the City Council has directed the city clerk to publish for two weeks in some newspaper issued and having a gen- eral circulation in 3ulaski county a notice calling upon the property ownere within said territory to appear before this Council on this day and show cause for or against such annex- ation, and WHEREAS, such notice has been duly published and this iL the time fixed in said notice for the hearing to determine wheth- er those signing said petition consti ut e a ma j ozi ty in value of the ocvtlers of real property in said territory, and, 'HEREAS, this Council has heard all persons who desire to be heard upon the question of whether the signers of said peti- tion constitute a majority in value of the owners of real prop- erty within said territory sought to be annexed. THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas: Section 1. That this Council has ascertained that the signers of the petition to annex the property hereinafter de- scribed to Street Improvement District No. 315 of the city of -2- w Little Rock, Arkansaa, constitute a majority in value of ,- he owners of real property within the territory sought to be an- nexed, and that said petit: on for the annexation of said terri- tory is in due form and properly signed by a majority of the owners of real property as required by law. Section 2. That lots 21, 22, 23, 359 36, 37, 389 39 and 40, Block 339 Parish's Sub - division; Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 79 8 and 9, Block 34; Lots 19, 20, 21, 28, 29, 309 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36, Block 42, parish's Sub - division; Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 69 7, 8, 9, 16, 17 and 18, Block 43, all in Centennial Addition to the City of Little Rock, ,ulaski County, Arkansas, be, and they are hereby added to and annexed to Street Improvement Dis- trict No. 315 of Little Rock and are a part of said improvement district and the commissioners of said district shall proceed to make the improvements petitionea for by doing the necessary drain- ing and paving with the material and in the manner that the com- missioners of said Street Improvement District No. 315 shall deem to be for the best interest of the territory hereby annexed to said Street Improvement District No. *515 on Summit Avenue from the South line of Test Seventeenth Street to the North line of Wright Aven.:e and Ei #hteenth Street from the V.est line of Battery Street to the East line of Schiller Avenge. That said annexed territory shall be known as the Summit Avenue and Eighteenth Street Annex to Street Improvement District No. 315 of Little Rock, Arkansas. Section 3. That the commissioners shall make the assess- ment of benefits for said improvement on the lots in the terri- tory to be annexed on the same basis as if said territory was included in the original district and shall file said assessment with the city clerk. Section 4. That all ordinances in conflict herewith are -3- � hereby repealed and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and the city clerk is hereby or- dered within twenty days after the passage of this ordinance to publish the same in some newspaper published in the city of Lit- tle Rock for one insertion.
