Ali ORDINANCE ANNEXING A CERTAIN PORTION, HEREIN- AFTER DESCRIBED, OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS, TO STRERT I12ROVEMENT DISTRICT NUMBER 340. WHEREAS, persons claiming to be a majority in value of the owners of real property within the territory hereinafter described, which property adjoins Street Improvement District Number 340, of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, a duly created and existing improvement district in said City, desire to be added to and included in said improvement district, and have filed a petition with the City Council of Little Rook, Pulaski County, Arkansas, praying that said territory be annexed to said improvement district and have designated the nature of the improvement to be undertaken and have described the terri- tory to be annexed; and WHEREAS, the City Council has directed the City Clerk to publish for two weeks in some newspaper issued and having a general circulation in Pulaski County, Arkansas, a notice call- ing upon the property owners within said territory to appear before this Council on this day and show cause for or against such annexation, and WHEREAS, such notice has been duly published and this is the time fixed in said notice for the hearing to determine whether those signing said petition constitute a majority in value of the owners of real property in said territory, and WHEREAS, this Council has heard all persons who desire to be heard upon the question of whether the signers of said LA *etition constitute a majority in value of the owners of real property within said territory sought to be annexed. THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas: SECTION 1. That this council has ascertained that the signers of the petition to annex the property hereinafter de- scribed to Street Improvement District Number 340, of the City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, constitute a majority in value of the owners of real property within the territory sought to be annexed, and that said petition for the annexation of said territory is in due form and properly signed by a majority in value of the owners of real property as required by law. SECTION 2. That all real property bounded or abutting upon Broadway street from the north line of Tenth street to the South line of Twenty- second street and running back a distance of 150 feet therefrom, and also including lots ten (10), eleven (11) and twelve (12), block seventeen (17), and lots one (1), two (2) and three (3), block eighteen (18), Fulton's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, be and they are hereby added to and annexed to Street Improvement District Number 340, of Little Rook, Pulaski County, Arkansas, and are a part of said improvement district, and the commissioners of said district shall proceed to make the improvements petitioned for by the draining, grading, curbing, guttering and paving of Broadway Street from the north line of attest Tenth Street to the south line of Nest Twenty- second Street, in the same manner and with the same materials and according to the same plans and specifications that have been adopted or may hereafter be adopted by them for said Street Improvement District luumber 340. SECTION 3. That the commissioners shall make the LAW OFFICES SAM T. & TOM POE A O. U. W. BLOC, LITTLE ROCK, ARK. w assessments of benefits for said improvement on the lots in the territory to be annexed on the same basis as if said territory was included in the original district and shall file said assessment with the City Clerk. SECTION 4. That all ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage, and the City Clerk is 4 hereby ordered within twenty days after the passage of this ordinance to publish the same in some newspaper in the City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, for one insertion.
