AN ORDINANCE LAYING OFF A PORTION OF THE
CITY OF LITT R ROCK INTO A STREET IMPROVE -
MRNT DISTRICT TO BE KN07MT AS STREET IMPROVE -
TENT DISTRICT N0. S �- AND DESIGNATING THE
BOUNDARIES THERB; .
WHER:AS, more than ten owners of real property within
that portion of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, herein-
after described, have petitioned the City Council to take steps
toward the making of local improvement therein by forming the
territory hereinafter described into an improvement district
for the purpose hereinafter set out,
TH REFORE , BE IT ORDAI NG1D BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: That said Improvement District No. 356
of the City of Little Rock, be, and the same is hereby created
and established for the purpose of making local improvements
therein by draining and repaving the following streets:
East 2nd Street from the east property line of
Main Street to the east property line of Byrd
Street; Cumberland, Rock and Rector Streets,
respectively, from the south property line of
East Markham Street to the north property lire
of Fast 3rd Street; and Byrd Street from the
south property line of East 2nd Street to the
north property line of East 3rd Street,
by grading, draining, curbing, guttering and paving the follow-
ing streets:
Cumberland Street from the south property line
of Bast 3rd Street to the north properrty line
of East 4th Street; Commerce, Sherman and Ferry
Streets respectively, from the south property line
of East Markham Street to the north property line
of East 3rd Street, and Collins Street from its
intersection With the south property line of East
Markham Street,produced east,to the north property
line of East 3rd Street. All to be done in such
manner and with such materials as the commissioners
of said District shall determine to be for the best
interests of said District.
All in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, in accordance with
an act of the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas, en-
titled "An Act to Regulate Local Improvements in Cities
of the FirEt Class." Approved March 22nd, 1881, and amen(f-
ments thereto; that the boundaries of said District shall
include the folloving property:-
Lots 4 to 9 inclusive of Block 2; Lots 1, 29 3
and 10, 11 and 12 of Block 3; Lots 7 to 12 in-
clusive of Block 31; Lots 1, 2, 3 and 7 to 12
inclusive of Block 32; Lots 4 to 12 inclusive
of Block 33; all of Blocks 36 and 37; Lots 1
to 6 inclusive of Block 38; all of Block 147;
All of Block F. being a triangular tract of
ground enclosed by the north line of East 2nd
Street, the east line of Rock Street and the
Quapaw line, all in the original City of Little
Kock.
All of Blocks 5 to 12 inclusive of Pope's Addition.
All of Blocks 2, 3 and 4; Lots 4 to 12 inclusive
of Block 5; Lots 6, 7 and 8 of Block 8; and Lots
it 29 3 and 4 of Block 9, all in Russell's Addition.
All of Blocks 1 and 2 and Lots 1, 2 and 3 of Block
3, all in Rector town Addition.
SECTION 2: That all ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed and this ordinance
shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage,
and the City Clerk is hereby ordered within twenty days from
the date of its passage to publish the flame in some newspaper
published in the City of Little Rock for one insertion.
