Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of.�i+ ►�tSr %�., Arkansas, as follows: Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person, firm -tr corporation to keep, store, pile, erect, maintain or permit upon any premises owned, occupied by, or under control of him or them, or upon any street, alley, or sidewalk adjacent thereto, any inflammable or combustible material such as hay, straw, shavings, rags, wool, packing cases, packing materials, inflammable waste materials, waste paper, lumber or other substance in such a manner as to endanger from fire any building or structure within said city. Section 2. That it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to place or cause or permit to be placed, any ashes in or about any building or structure within said city, except in a fireproof room, metal bin or receptacle approved by the City Fire Chief or inspector. Section 3. It shall be the duty of the Fire Chief, City Fire in- spector, or those delegated by them, to notify any person or persons, who shall violate any of the foregoing provisions, to remove or dispose of such _.. combustible m or inflammable material, or ashes, in such a manner that the same will not endanger the safety of any building or structure; and any- person or persons who shall for the space of twenty -four hours after such notice permit such combustible material, or ashes to remain upon the premises owned, occupied by, or under his, her or their control, in such manner as to be dangerous to the safety of any adjacent building or structure, shall, upon conviction thereof be fined in any sum not less than Ten ($10.00) Dollars, nor more than Fifty ($50.00) Dollars; each twenty -four hours of maintenance constituting a separate offense. Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the foregoing are hereby repealed. Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage, at the earliest period allowed by law. Passed; December 17, 1923. ./" Attest: Approved: AAA -- - Ci y Clerk.
