Whereas, Under Ordinance Number 3359, the I.iayor, the Parks and Grounds Committee and a committee of.four mem -. hers of the Little Rock Clearing House Association appointed by the Council were authorized to select a site suitable for park purposes and report back to the Council; and, Whereas, Such joint committee so authorized have reported back to the Council ,-hat as a part of such park site, in addition to the tracts heretofore selected, they have selected certain tracts adjacent to the tracts hereto- fore purchased and necessary for the proper laying out and construction of the park contemplated in said.Ordinance Num- ber 3359; the ownership, description, and price to be paid for such tracts being as follows: Owner Description Purchase Price A11,_a Irlae Catherina et al, The mast Half of Lot 18 of Adams Sub - division of the VIest Half of the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 6, Township 1 North, Range 12 West, Pulaski County, Arkansas; and, also, �---° A tract of land de- scribed as follows: Be- Sinning at the northwest corner of the East Half of Lot 18 of Adams Subdi- vision of the !.'Vest Half of the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 6, Township ,1 North, Range 12 Test, �I M 40 Owner Description Purchase Price Pulaski County, Arkansas, thence west, along the north line of said lot, a distance of 50 feet; thence south, paralleling the west boundary line of said lot, a distance of 150 feet; thence east 50 feet; thence north a distance of 150 feet, to point of beginning, $ 2061.86 And Whereas, Such selection has been approved __ l '-- - = by this Council; Now, Therefore; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK Section 1. The BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS of the City of Little Rock is HEREBY A02HORIZED AND DIRECTED TO CONTRACT for the purchase of the tracts of land above described and of the 5300,000.00 heretofore appropriated for the purpose of purchasing and equipping a park site, the KAYOR AND CITY CLERK, after a contract for such purchase has been Trade, for a sum -not in excess of the purchase price set out in the pre- amble hereto, and the title to such tracts of land approved by attorneys to be selected by the Mayor and Board of Public Affairs, ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED, in accordance with the provisions of said Ordinance Number 3359, TO EXECUI AND DELIVER to the owner or owners of such tracts the CITY'S WARRANT OR WARRANTS FOR THE SUIT CONTRACTED TO BE PAID for such tracts, to be in full payment for said tracts of land so purchas ed, title thereto, upon the consummation of said transaction, to be taken in the name of the City of Little Rock. Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage.
