Ordinance No. 2 3
An Ordinance Authorizing the Board of Public Affairs to Contract
for the Purchase of Certain Tracts of Land in Cunningham's
Addition to the City of Little Rock, to be Used as a
Park Site, and for other purposes.
Whereas, Under Ordinance Number 3359, the Mayor, the
Parks and Grounds Committee and a committee of four members of
Little Rock Clearing House Association appointed by the Council
were authorized to select a site suitable for Park purposes and
report back to the Council; and,
Whereas, Such joint committee so authorized have re-
ported back to the Council that as a part of such park site, in
addition to the tracts heretofore selected, they have selected
certain tracts adjacent to the tracts heretofore purchased and
necessary for the proper laying out and construction of the park
contemplated in said Ordinance Number 3359, the ownership, de-
scription, and price to be paid for each of said tracts being as
f ollows:

And Whereas, Such selection has been approved in each
instance by this Council, Now, Therefore;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
Section 1. The Board of Public Affairs of the City of
Little Rock is hereby authorized and directed to contract for
the purchase of the tracts of land above described and of the
$300,000.00 heretofore appropriated for the purpose of purchasing
and equipping a park site, the Mayor and City Clerk, after a
contract for each of said purchases has been made, for a surd not
in excess of the purchase price set out in the preamble hereto,
and the title to such tract of nd approved by attorneys to be
selected by the Mayor and Board f Public Affairs, are hereby au-
thorized and directed, in accordance with the provisions of said
Ordinance No. 3359, to execute and deliver to the owner or owners
of each of said tracts the City's warrant or warrants for the sure
contracted to be paid for such tract, to be in full payment for
said tract of land so purchased, the title thereto, upon the con-
summation of said transaction, to be taken in the name of the
City of Little Rock.
Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
