AN ORDINANCE, ANNEXING A CERTAIIN PORTION, HEREINAF^lER DE- SCr IBED, OF T?lh CITE' OF LI`.i'TLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, TO STREET IivPhOVE>MENT DISTRICT NO. 335 of LI`,`TLE ROCK, AhKj_ i SAS. WHEhhAS, persons claiming to be a majority in value of the owners of real Droperty within the territory hei- einafter described, which property adjoins Street Inpr•ovement Dis- trict Wo. 335 of Little Rock, Arkansas, a duly created and existing improvement district in said city, desire to be added to anal, included in said improvement district, and have filed a petition with the City Council of the City of Lit- tle Rock, Arkansas, praying that said territory be annexed to said improvement district and have designated the natur -e of the improvement to be undertaken, and have described I" the territory to be annexed,and TVHEhEAS, the City Council has directed the city clerk to publish for two weeks in some newsnaner° issued and hav- ing a general circulation in Pulaski County, a notice call - ing upon the property 07.7ners within said territory to appear before this Council on this day and show cause for or a- gairst said annexation, and WHEhF;AS, such notice has been duly published and t' is is the time fixed in said notice for the hearing to deter- mine whether those signing said netition constitute a ma- jority in value of the owners of real property in said ter- ritory, and WHEhEAS, this Council has heard all persons who desire to be heard upon the question of whether the signers of said petition constitute a majority in value of the ovrners of real property within said territory sought to be annexed. THEhEFOhE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas: Section 1. That this Council has ascertained that the signers of the petition to annex the property hereinafter de- scribed to Street Improvement District No. 335 of the City of Little Rock, Ar_lcansas, constitute a majority in value of the owners of real property within the territory sought to be annexed, and that said petition for the annexation of said territory is in due form and properly signed by a ma- jority of the owners of real property as required by law. Section 2. Lots One (1) , Two (2) , 'Three (3) , Four (4) , Five (5), Six (6), Seven (7), add Eight (8), Block One (1); Lots Eleven (11) , Twelve (12), T'hirteen (13) , Fourteen (14), Fifteen (15), ,Sixteen (16), Seventeen (17), Eighteen (18), and Nineteen (19), Block Two (2), Replat of Doyle Place; also a part of Elm Street running from the South pro- perty line of South Lookout Avenue in a Northerly Direction, a distance of One Hundred Seventy -Eight (178) Feet, all in Replat of Doyle Place, Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, be, and all of said property is hereby added to and annexed to Street.Imgrovement District No. 335 of Little Rock and is a part of said improvement district and the commissioners of said district shall proceed to make the improvements petitioned Q i. r • - 2 - for by doing the necessary draining , nd paving with the materials and in the manner that the commissioners of said Street Improvement District No. 335 shall deem to be for the best interest of the territory hereby annexed to said Street Improvement District No. 335 on Elm Street from the South property line of South Lookout Avenue and running in a Northerly direction a distance of One Hundred Seventy - Eight (178) feet; on South Lookout Avenue from the East pro- perty line of Elm Street to the East property line of Lot Eight (8), Block One (1), produced in a Northerly direction; also by putting down and constructing concrete sidewalks on the Ni,rth and South sides of South Lookout tivenue, from the East line of Elm Street to the East property line of Lot Eight (8), Block One (1), all. in Replat of Doyle Place, Lit- tle Rock, Arkansas. That said annexed territory shall be known as the Elm. Street and South Lookout Avenue Annex to Street Improvement District No. 335 of Little Rock, Arkansas. Section 3. 7Mat the col — issioners shall make the assess- ments of benefits for said improvement on the lots in the territory to be annexed on the same basis as if said terri- tory was included in the original district and shall file said assessment with the City Clerk. Section 4. Tliat all ordinances in conflict hererith are hereby repealed end this ordinance shall tame effect and be in force from and after its passage, and the City Clerk is hereby ordered «,ithin 20 days after the passage of this ordinance to publish the same in the City of Little Rock for one insertion.
