BE IT ORDAINED BY THr CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
Secti -)n 1. Th?t an inspector of weights and measures in the
City of Little Rock is hereby created whose duty it shall be to
enforce all 1fnms �-nd revulations r- latinlz to t11- inspection of
weights and- measures used in the city of Little. Rock. The salary
of s?id inspector shall be Twenty °?ne Hundred (x'2100) Dollars
per annum, -n,9ya gle monthly at the time and in the manner as other
city employees ^re now paid.
Section 2. Such inspector shall make a bond to the City of
Little Rock in the amount of One Thousand.(''1000) Dollars guaranteeing
the faithful r,erformance of his duty as insnectorand guaranteeing
the faithful and nr?per accountin`- by him to the City Collector
for ell moneys received by him for the inspection of weights and
measur�:c as herein'-fter provided.
Section 3. All instruments used or to be ueed in the City of
Little Rock for the weighing or measuring of any article shall be
inspected =end anproved by the Inspector before such instrument
can ce used in the city. Such instruments sh ^11 be insneeted not
less than once each year.
Section 4. That for making the inspection herein nrovided

Section. 5 - ''henever the Inspector sh =11 find as a. result of
such�inspeetion thr - -t any instrument used for weighin:, or measuring
articles or commoditi sold in the City of Little Rock is not
accurate or does not conform to all laws of both city and state
he sh? 11 promptly x7 rk such instrument c ond_emned , whereupon the
owner sh -11 have three (3) deys within which to correct or adjust said
instrurnFnt, but no such instrument sh?11 b- used for wei,�hin -

If upon notification the inspector is advised that such instrument
has been corrected he shall 7-o-orove and properly seal the same and
it shall be unlawful for any person to remove or break any seal
placed upon any instrument by the inspector. If at the end. of
the three days said instrument has not been corrected it sh..- 11 be
the duty of the inspector to seize and destroy such condemned
instrument.
Section 6. The InsoFctor herein provided for shall have
full n n er and ^uthority to enter upon the -Oremises- at any time
he desire =s for the ournose of insnecting, seizing or condemning
any instrument and said inspector is hereby authorized and empowered
to arr�:st forthwith-any p -rson who shall hinder or interfer with
him while makin.=, the inspections provided. by the ordinF.nce.
Section 7. It shy 11 be unlawful for ~ny person to h�:ve in
their noseession any scales or other mechanical devices for the
wei.zhine, or measurino, of comrrioditirs to be sold by them which has
not been inspect =d and b: - °.ars the Pnoroval of the inspector thereon.
Section 8. The business of rep - irin =z scales or mechanical
measuri-n devices is hereby deck -,red to be a privilege :end each

Section 10. It shall be the duty of the Inspector t)

Section 11. Any nr ers on vi ola ting any provision of this
ordinance shall be deemed guilty of misdemeanor and upon conviction
there ')n shall be fined not less than Ten (610) Dollars nor :nor•:
than One Hundred ($100) Dollars and every days violation of this
ordinance shall constitute P separate offense.
Section 12. That all ordinances and rerts of ordinances in
conflict hereto ►ith are hereby repealed, aiid this ordinance shall take
effect and be in force from and after its passage.
