HomeMy WebLinkAbout4899ORDINANCE NO-- - - - - -- AN ORDINANCE REDUCING THE SALARIES OF EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES: M., 1EREAS the financial condition of,,the City of Little Rock has made necessary immediate retrenchments in the expenditures in all departments of the City government and a reduction in the salaries paid to all employees of said City and 'TJHEREAS in order to meet the emergencies of such financial con- dition it is the recommendation of the members of the City Council and City officials that there be an immediate reduction in the in the sum of 20% of said4i salaries of all employees of the City of Little Rock, and WBEREAS all elective officials in every department of the City have agreed to voluntarily reduce their salaries in the sum ofA20% THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK: Section 1. That from and after August 31,1931 to and including December 3191931 that the salaries of all employees of the City of Little Rock shall be and the same is hereby fixed at a stun equal to 80`f of the amount of salary now being paid to said employees, provided however the salary of any that /any employees now being paid upon a weekly basis shall not be reduced below the sum of $15.00 per week. Section 2. The financial condition of the City being in such a straightened condition that there is imminent danger af t of the necessary operations of vital public services being impaired, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordiaance shall take effec and be in force from and after its passage.
