AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING SEVENTY -FIVE DOLLARS ($75.00) OR SO MUCH THEREOF AS MAY BE NECESSARY FROM THE GENERAL REVENUE FUND OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING CHIEF OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT I-M, . CHAS. A. BURNS, ENABLING HIM TO ATTEND THE INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION OF FIRE CHIEFS AND THE NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION, SAID CONVENTIONS OR 11EETINGS TO BE HELD IN FORT WORTH, TEXAS, MAY 15 to MAY 17, 1933, INCLUSIVE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, said convention is to be held on the dates and at the place as shown above, and untold benefits are to be derived by the attendance of said Fire Chief with reference to fire fighting, better protection of life and property, enactment and observance of building codes, more modern regulations, equipment, etc. All of which will revert to and for the interest of the City of Little Rock; NO'S, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK: Section 1. That the sum of $75.00 or so much thereof as may be necessary is hereby appropriated from the general revenue fund of the City of Little Rock for the purpose herein recited, and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to draw the City's warrant in payment of said appropriation or provide said amount in cash from funds available for such purpose. Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 3. That for the best interest of the City of Little Rock, its public peace, safety, and welfare, and by reason of the early meeting date of said convention an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after the date of its passage.
