PRESIDENT CLAIBOURNE W.CONWAY.VICE PRESI ENT UNITED CORPORATION SUCCESSOR TO * INVESTMENT, INSURANCE, RENTAL it AND REAL ESTATE DEPARTMENTS OF UNION TRUST COMPANY LITTLE ROCK ARKANSAS J. R. CONNOR Rental Officer March 231 1334 TO THE Honorable Mayor and City Council Little Rock, .Arkansas Gentlemen: We have leased store room known as #216 West Capitol Avenue, this city, for a period of five years, but the lease is contingent upon our building a marquette across the entire front of the store room Which is fifty feet. It is our unders`anding that your Public forks Department could only issue a permit to build a marquette for only twenty -five feet of this frontage and that in order to build across the entire fifty feet, it is necessary to obtain permission from your honorable body. Therefore, we are respectfully requesting that you pass an ordinance giving us authority to build this marquette, which will be twelve feet above the sidewalk level, similar to that in front of the building on the northwest corner of Fifth and Center Streets, occulted by the Little Rock '.,is & Fuel Company and the Black and White Stores, except ours will be a much more attractive structure. For your further information, we are handing you the plans, which include the marquette, for remodeling the leased store room. We are also handing you the specifications for doing tilts work. When this, work is complet6d, we will have a very attractive store room at this location which will be occupied by a very progressive merchant. As we are very anxious to start this work and to complete it at the earliest date _possible, may we ask that you 91' this your very prompt and favorable attention. jr c %mw attch .0 Very respectfully submitted, Unit0d Agent for Owner rRental Officer CITY OF LITTLE ROCK % 93- Date gr9\7 193— ROLL CALL —CITY COUNCIL — OFFICIAL YEAR 1932 -1933 WARDS Names o!
