Section 1. Thut whereas the special committee appointed by
the Council after investigation and tue receiut "rid investigation of
uids offered by various Little Ruck firms for the f urni suing of trucks

Section 2. Tae Board of Public Affairs and the T,iayor are hereby
authorized a.iid directed to enter into contracts with the respective
firms for the purchase of said truc.;s on the basis of the bids
offered by each and filed with the special council committee which
made t,-,e investigation.
Section 3. :Ihereas the garbage department of the city is in
urgent need of truc:-:s for the collection and disposal of the city(s
garbage and same being necessary for the immediate presetvation of
the public peace, health and safety an emergency is hreby declared
to exist and this acdinance shall be in immediate effect.

Ne, your corrwmittee authorized by the Council to make an
invests-mation for the purchase of trucks for the Garbage
Department, beg to report that, after having; made ghat we
believe a thorough and fair investigation, we are of th.e
opinion and so recommend to the Honorable Mayor and City
Council that the city accept tl.e bid made by the Inter-
national Earves ter Company on five (5) �:-odel B -3 6 Cylinder
160 inch wheel base International trucks, chassis to be
equipped with inclosed cabs; 32 x 6 heavy duty 10 ply tires,
single front and dual rears; puncture proof intertubes; oil
tight air cleaners; governors and overload springs; and
power take -offs; and that the dump bodies and hoist now
used on five (5) of the present Hug equipment be transferred
to the new chassis. The International Harvester Company
clean and ,paint and guarantee tLi e hoist and bodies t o be in
good working conditions five (5) of the present hug chassis
to be delivered to the Int erna ,i onal harvester Company for
credit.
The total cost per truck to the City of Little Book is to
be $1,128.00, or a total of 45,640.00, same to be delivered
on a rental basis of 4235.00 per rwnth over a period of
tl,; enty -four (24) months; or, Y47.00 per truck per month,
alien paid, t��e title to the trucks and equipment is to ro-
vert to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas.
le further recommend the purchase of two (2) z ?oriel K -34
161 inch wheel base Dodge trucks, equipped with 32 x 6
S ply Goodyear tires, single front and dual rear; puncture
proof intertubes; auxiliary or helper sprirWz, duplex oil
bath air cleaners; hydraulic brakes, fully inclosed; galion
4 cubic ,Yard garbage bodies; gallon 6 inch hydraulic hoist;
at a price of 41,378.32 per truck or a total of 42,756.64,
to =8 to be on a lease rental basis extended over a ttivent y-
four 4 24) month period from date of d eli ve ay; or $57.43 per
month per truck,, or a total monthly payment of :'114.86.
Shen paid, the title to tie trucks and equipment revert to

We further recomend that two (2) of the present Hug trucks
be retained by the city, and when the seven (7) trucks are
placed in service ti . a se two (2) trucks be Inure di a tely
reconditioned and used for emergency purposes,
