AN ORDINANCE FIXING LEAVES OF ABSENCE FOR IMMERS OF THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, AITD FOR OTIER PURPOSES.
BE IT OR DAINTD BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCKt
SECTION 1. The Chief of Police of the City of
Little Rock shall grant leaves of absence to the officers and
members of said department for a period not to exceed fifteen
(15) days in the year for each person. Said Chief shall grant
leaves of absence on application of the members of the Police
Force. Such leaves of absence shall be granted at such time,
or times, so as not to materially weaken said Department, or,
destroy the efficiency thereof, and provided the applicant has
been in the service of the Department for a period of one year
prior to such application.
SECTION 2. It being ascertained and found that
the 1935 Legislature enacted a state law giving a fifteen (15)
day vacation a year to each member of the Little Rock Fire Depart-
ment, and that the members of the Little Rock Police Department
are entitled to the same consideration, and the same will promote
harmony and good will in the two departments, and will be benefi-
cial to the public peace, health, and safety of the citizenship
of the City of Little Rock, all ordinances, and parts of ordinances,
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and an emergency being
found to exist, this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
